First poppies

First mosquito bite today. Drat. I thought it was way early, but I checked my notes and last year it was May 3. Missed it by a couple of days.

Nest construction began April 21. Saw my first hummingbird that day also. It was nectaring at the coral honeysuckle. First year it has bloomed!
